MEMORIAL DAY STATEMENT
By: Gadsden County Interim Administrator Henry G. Grant, PhD

GADSDEN COUNTY, FL – Today Gadsden County Interim Administrator Henry G. Grant, PhD released the following statement regarding the observance of Memorial Day:

“This Memorial Day weekend, as we reflect and experience what’s currently going on in our County surrounding the COVID-19 virus, let us not forget to remember the service, sacrifice, commitment, and courage of those soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coastguardsmen, who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. Military.

“This year, we won’t be able to honor them as we have done in the past. These men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country, many of whom began their lives right here in Gadsden County, deserve our many thanks. They are the true heroes who always put others before themselves. Their selflessness, integrity, and bravery will never be forgotten. We must continue to uphold their legacy and remember their contributions to our country today and every day.

“As you join with family and friends to honor loved ones and friends, please be safe and take the time to say thanks to our veterans—not only this weekend but throughout the year. In doing so, we are teaching the next generation of Gadsden Countians the meaning of honor, freedom, integrity, and respect.”
