On Wednesday, July 3, 2019, Gadsden County will honor veterans with an Appreciation Picnic on the Gadsden County Courthouse lawn. The Veterans Appreciation Picnic will begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m.
All veterans and members of the community are invited to celebrate and reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. Gadsden County Emergency Services will also be in attendance to perform free vital sign and blood pressure checks and offer CPR training.
Each veteran in attendance will receive a commemorative pin as a reminder of the gratitude of the county and the entire community.
Gadsden County, home to over 3,000 veterans, hosts an annual Veterans Day celebration in November. However, the need to show appreciation to those who served is year-round.
The event is free and open to the public.
