BREAKFAST WITH A BATTLE BUDDY FOR LOCAL VETERANS
GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla- -On Friday, July 16, the Gadsden County's Veterans Services Office will host its first-ever Breakfast with a Battle Buddy for local veterans at the Gadsden County Extension Building in Quincy.
The free breakfast will be held:
8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Gadsden County Veterans Services is introducing the new breakfast with a battle buddy free breakfast to make sure veterans know that Gadsden County doesn't only care about them on Veterans Day but year-round. Those veterans who attend are welcome to wear their former service uniforms to show their pride in their branch of services.
"It's going to be a great day and a good breakfast too," said the Director of Veterans Service U.S. Army Ret. Master Sgt Michael Jackson. "This breakfast will allow both veterans and Gadsden County staff time to enjoy and socialize by sharing a meal together."
The Gadsden County Veteran Services Office is a resource center for eligible veterans and their families. The Veterans Office collaborates with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other organizations to ensure veterans and their families receive the entitlements they have earned for their military service.
Gadsden County Veterans Services staff advise veterans, veterans' survivors and their dependents of their rights under the military service benefits act and other relevant legislation. They also assist veterans and dependents in the office and other public agencies in the preparation and follow-up of applications for state and federal benefits, including home loans; review and file claims for veteran benefits and develop and maintain a close relationship with other veteran service agencies.
There are 1,525,400 veterans in the State of Florida. There are 1,381,170 male veterans and 144,229 female veterans. Florida has the third-largest veteran population in the nation, behind California with 1,681,730 veterans and Texas with 1,584,844 veterans.
