Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
Safely Dispose of Hazardous Waste in Gadsden County

Gadsden County residents, do you have old paint, batteries, or other hazardous materials at home? Join us for our annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day and dispose of them safely—free of charge!

Event Details

📅 Date: Friday, March 21
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: Gadsden County Public Works Building, 1284 High Bridge Road, Quincy

⚠️ Business waste will NOT be accepted.


What You Can Bring

We accept a variety of common household hazardous waste, including:

Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, Lithium, NiCad)
Paints & Solvents (Latex & oil-based paints, thinners, stains)
Automotive Fluids (Antifreeze, motor oil, steering fluid)
Chemicals (Pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals)
Electronics & Lighting (Fluorescent bulbs, ballasts, mercury-containing items)
Household Items (Propane tanks, cleaning fluids, car batteries, fire extinguishers, aerosol spray paints)

🔹 Containers must be 5 gallons or smaller or weigh less than 10 pounds.


Items We Do NOT Accept

🚫 Unlabeled or unknown materials
🚫 Asbestos
🚫 Medical or infectious waste
🚫 Commercial/industrial waste
🚫 Explosives or reactive materials
🚫 Smoke detectors & carbon monoxide alarms

🔹 Commercial businesses are not permitted to participate.


Who Can Participate?

This event is free for Gadsden County residents. Proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or utility bill) is required.
