Celebrate Black History, Culture, and Community with Us!

We are excited to invite you to join us for the 45th Annual Gadsden County Black History Month Parade, an incredible celebration of Black history, heritage, and culture. This year’s parade will march through the streets of Quincy, Florida, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. Hosted by Gadsden County, the City of Quincy, and the Gadsden County Black History and Educational Organization, this event continues to grow each year, drawing participants and spectators from across the region.


Parade Details

  • Date & Time: Saturday, February 22, 2025, | 11:00 
  • Start Location: Corner of Stewart Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard (Across from the Bus Yard)
  • Set-Up Time: 10:00 AM (Participants should arrive early to set up)

The 45th Annual Gadsden County Black History Month Parade promises to be an unforgettable experience, with a variety of entries including bands, floats, dance troops, vehicles, and more. This event has become one of the best Black History Month celebrations in the South, drawing large crowds to the heart of Quincy.

Our hosts for the day, Lanetra Bennett and Joe Bullard from 96.1, will lead the festivities and help us showcase the richness of Black culture and history.


Parade Participation

Are you interested in joining the parade? We encourage bands, floats, dance troops, vehicles, and other exciting entries to participate in this year’s event. Participation is free!

Black History Month Festival

After the parade, stick around for the Black History Month Festival, an exciting celebration of Black culture. This event will feature:

  • Delicious food
  • Live entertainment
  • Cultural activities

Vendors interested in showcasing their goods or services at the festival are encouraged to apply. For more information and to submit a vendor application, please contact Monica Smart at 850-510-4015.


Event Highlights:

  • Last Year's Success: Over 500 vehicles participated in last year’s parade, and we’re hoping to see even more this year—over 1,000 participants expected!
  • Amazing Hosts: Lanetra Bennett and Joe Bullard will guide us through the festivities.
