Dee Jackson, is a native of Gadsden County. She has proven leadership ability and has excelled in the areas of: grant writing, corporate event management, operations management, budget operations, primary & adult education, community relations, marketing and organizational leadership. Her educational background includes degrees in Psychology/Elementary Education and a Masters of Business Administration. She possesses a host of professional licensures, including contract management and compliance. She is currently working on her Doctoral of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership and Innovation.
Mrs. Jackson has devoted her entire adult life to community empowerment. She has a proven track-record of successful initiatives in both Gadsden and Leon counties. She’s served on many advisory boards designed to empower the community in various capacities, including: health & wellness, affordable housing, elimination of homelessness, drug rehabilitation and teen behavior modification.
Mrs. Jackson is completely devoted to her family life with her husband of more than 20 years, (Clarence), four children (Jaelen, Joana, Jan, and Jae) and two dogs (Duke & Goose). In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and entertaining friends & family.
Mrs. Jackson has served as the grant writer for the county and was recently appointed as the Interim County Administrator. When asked about her goals for the county, Mrs. Jackson stated: “I’m excited about the opportunity I have to work alongside people whose mission, like mine, is for Gadsden County to be as great as can be. I believe that with intensified focus on job growth and economic development as well as the implementation and adherence to a long-term strategic plan, we’re going to see our County bloom into her full potential."
