7-Day Burn Ban Notice Issued for Gadsden County
GADSDEN COUNTY, FL — Due to current dry weather conditions and an increased risk of
wildfire, the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), in coordination with
local public safety officials, has issued a countywide burn ban effective immediately for the
next seven (7) days.
This burn ban will remain in effect from April 16,2026 through April 22,2026, unless extended
or lifted earlier based on weather conditions.
During this time, all outdoor burning is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:
• Yard debris burning
• Campfires
• Bonfires
• Agricultural burns without proper authorization
The purpose of this temporary burn ban is to protect lives, property, and natural resources by
reducing the risk of uncontrolled fires during dry conditions.
Residents are urged to:
• Avoid any activities that could create sparks or open flames
• Properly dispose of cigarettes and flammable materials
• Report any signs of fire immediately by calling 911
Failure to comply with the burn ban may result in fines or other penalties as enforced by local
and state regulations.
The BOCC will continue to monitor conditions in coordination with emergency management and
fire officials and will provide updates as necessary.
