GADSDEN COUNTY PROBATION HELPING HANDS INITIATIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH D.J. DAP’S LOREEN MATHEWS FOUNDATION AND UPSILON THETA SIGMA CHAPTER OF PHI BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY TO HOST A COMMUNITY JOB AND RESOURCE FAIR

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla- -The Gadsden County Probation Helping Hands Initiative, D.J. Dap’s Loreen Mathews Foundation, and the Upsilon Theta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity are joining forces to host a Community Job and Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at the Joe Ferolito Recreation Center in Quincy.

Organizers say the free event will be more than just a chance to explore employment opportunities—it’s also a way to connect residents to health services, family activities, and local support programs.

“We want to create a one-stop space where people can think about their future, take care of their health, and connect with employers who are ready to hire,” Gadsden County Probation Office Director Temeka Rollins said. “It’s about building up our community and giving our residents the tools they need to thrive.”

Event Highlights

  • Meet with employers offering immediate job openings.
  • Access resume assistance, interview tips, and career counseling.
  • Receive free physicals, wellness exams, and screenings.
  • Enjoy a food giveaway while supplies last.
  • Participate in family-friendly children’s activities.
  • Enter for a chance to win door prizes, including Wild Adventures and Jacksonville Zoo tickets.

Health Services on Site

Three mobile health units will be on hand to provide free services:

  • OneBlood Mobile Blood Unit – The “Big Red Bus” will be accepting blood donations and providing health screenings.
  • PanCare Mobile Clinic Units – Offering primary care and behavioral health services, including counseling and medication-assisted treatment.
  • Abella Health Clinic Mobile Unit – Providing wellness exams and basic health screenings.

“It’s rare to have so many resources in one place,” Rollins said. “This is a great opportunity for residents to take care of their health and career goals at the same time.”
