GADSDEN COUNTY COMMISSIONER RONTERIOUS “RON” GREEN APPOINTED TO NACO’S RURAL ACTION CAUCUS

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. – Gadsden County Commissioner Ronterious “Ron” Green (District 5) has been appointed to serve as a member of the Rural Action Caucus (RAC) of the National Association of Counties (NACo) for the 2025–2026 term. The announcement was made by NACo President J.D. Clark as part of a national effort to elevate rural priorities and strengthen federal partnerships for local communities.

Commissioner Green’s appointment recognizes his unwavering commitment to rural leadership and his dedication to addressing the unique challenges facing America’s smaller counties.

“I’m honored to be appointed to the Rural Action Caucus,” Commissioner Green said. “Rural counties are vital to the fabric of this country, and this role allows us to elevate our stories, advocate for our needs, and build stronger futures for our communities.”

President J.D. Clark’s 2025–2026 initiative, County Storytellers, focuses on the power of storytelling to inspire trust, connection, and innovation in public service. Through this initiative, NACo members will use narrative, data, and technology to imagine what’s possible and lead with authenticity and purpose.

“Our greatest strength lies in the engagement of our members,” Clark said. “Commissioner Green’s active leadership ensures that rural voices remain a central part of the national conversation.”

The Rural Action Caucus represents the interests of rural counties before Congress and federal agencies, advocating on issues like broadband access, infrastructure, public health, and economic development.

Commissioner Green will contribute to upcoming events such as the NACo Legislative Conference, February 21–24, 2026, in Washington, D.C., and the Annual Conference, July 17–20, 2026, in Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
