COMMISSIONER ERIC HINSON, CITY OF MIDWAY, AND ONE GADSDEN FOUNDATION TO HOST 14TH ANNUAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL DRIVE AND COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. – Excitement is building across Gadsden County as Commissioner Eric Hinson, One Gadsden Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the City of Midway, prepares for its highly anticipated 14th Annual Back-to-School Drive and Community Resource Fair on Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Eugene Lamb Recreation Center in Midway.

The free, family-friendly event, which runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., is known for bringing together families, local organizations, and community partners. It promises a vibrant day full of giveaways, entertainment, and essential services to help students gear up for a strong start to the new school year.

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Free school supplies and toiletries
  • Haircuts and hairstyles for kids and teens
  • Health screenings and technology giveaways
  • Games, food, drinks, and live entertainment

Organizers expect hundreds to attend, making the fair not only a celebration but a powerful example of local unity.

“This event is about more than just backpacks,” Commissioner Hinson said. “It’s about lifting up our students and their families, showing our support, and making sure every family is prepared for the school year by having the resources they need for success.”

Midway City Manager, Dr. Henry Grant, added, “We are excited to partner with One Gadsden Foundation this year as this fair reminds us that collaboration builds stronger communities. When our local government, schools, and organizations come together, we create real momentum for positive change, especially for our youth.”

Local vendors and resource providers will be on-site to connect families with services in education, wellness, and workforce support. The event also honors the power of collaboration, with organizations and volunteers stepping up to donate time, supplies, and energy to the cause.
