Event Recognizes Community Corrections Professionals for Their Critical Role in Public Safety

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla - -The Gadsden County Probation Office will host a free community luncheon at noon on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in celebration of Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week. The event will be held at the Florida Public Safety Institute Conference Center, located at 75 College Drive in Havana.
Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week will be observed July 20–26 in Gadsden County. This year’s theme, “Heroes Behind the Mission: Changing Lives, Enhancing Public Safety,” honors the dedication of community corrections professionals and highlights their essential work in promoting rehabilitation, accountability, and community safety.
“This week gives us the opportunity to shine a light on the behind-the-scenes heroes who help individuals rebuild their lives while protecting the public,” said Gadsden County Probation Supervisor Temeka Rollins. “These professionals work tirelessly to make our communities safer through compassion, supervision, and service.”
Pretrial, probation, and parole officers provide vital services to individuals under correctional supervision in the community. Their responsibilities include conducting home visits, drug testing, verifying counseling attendance, and helping individuals secure housing and employment. Many officers also oversee electronic monitoring and utilize advanced technologies to supervise clients effectively.
The annual observance serves to engage the public, policymakers, and legislators in recognizing the important role of community corrections in the justice system. These professionals ensure appropriate supervision and support for individuals outside of jail or prison settings.
