COMMISSIONER RON GREEN CONGRATULATES GADSDEN COUNTY NATIVE Q’VAUNDA CURRY ON FAMU SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

QUINCY, Fla. — Commissioner Ronterious Green is proud to congratulate Gadsden County native Q’Vaunda Curry on her selection to the prestigious Florida A&M University (FAMU) Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

Curry, a former standout guard for the FAMU women’s basketball team, was a trailblazer on and off the court. She finished her collegiate career as the program’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals made. A three-time team captain, Curry also ranked in the NCAA Top 20 for three consecutive years in games played, 3-point field goals, and 3-point attempts. She was also among the NCAA’s Top 20 in player efficiency rating for two seasons.

“Q’Vaunda’s achievements have always reflected the heart, grit, and excellence of Gadsden County,” Commissioner Green said. “Her legacy will inspire generations of young athletes in our community. We celebrate not just her records, but the path she has paved.”

Curry developed a love for basketball at a young age while playing with her cousins in Quincy. Her journey continued through Carter Paramore Middle School and Gadsden High School, where her standout performance earned her a full scholarship to FAMU. Beyond athletics, Curry also excelled academically, earning an MBA from FAMU’s School of Business and Industry.

Marvin Green, Chairman of the FAMU Sports Hall of Fame, spoke highly of this year’s inductees: “It is always an honor to recognize individuals who have made a lasting impact on FAMU Athletics, both on and off the field.”

Curry joins a distinguished group of 15 inductees in the Class of 2025, including eight former student-athletes, two legendary coaches, and five dedicated supporters of Rattler Athletics.

The 2025 FAMU Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. Further details regarding the venue and ticketing will be released in the coming weeks.
