GADSDEN COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SECOND HARVEST OF THE BIG BEND TO HOST COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE A HELPING HANDS INITIATIVE
GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. – The Gadsden County Probation Department, in partnership with Second Harvest of the Big Bend, will host a community food drive on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Ward Lot A, located on W. Washington Street in Quincy. The event is part of the department’s Helping Hands Initiative, which focuses on supporting families in need across Gadsden County.
This food distribution event aims to assist local residents facing food insecurity. According to Feeding America, 5,480 Gadsden County residents are food insecure, with a total annual food budget shortfall of more than $3.1 million.
“Through the Helping Hands Initiative, the Gadsden County Probation Department is committed to extending our role beyond supervision and enforcement by addressing basic community needs,” said Temeka Rollins, Gadsden County Probation Manager. “This food drive reflects our dedication to public service and improving the lives of families in our community.”
